Introduction

A Bit of Background

The WHO describes the Filipino healthcare system as "fragmented." There is a long history of unjust and unequal access to health care that disproportionately impacts the poor. Clearly, many of the Philippines' 109.6 million people do not have access to basic care. The country has a high mother and neonatal death rate, as well as a high fertility rate. This causes issues for those who have particularly restricted access to basic treatment or who live in generally poor health conditions. Private health-care facilities are frequently the first choice of Filipino families who can afford them. Private institutions provide higher quality care than public facilities, which are typically used by low-income families. The public amenities are typically found in more rural, run-down regions. These hospitals have fewer medical personnel and worse materials. Healthcare in the Philippines is hampered by a scarcity of human medical resources, particularly doctors. This causes the system to run slower and less efficiently.

“Bringing Healthcare Closer To You”

HAPinas aims to provide people with the closest and most accessible healthcare facilities to meet their needs. Hospitals, both public and private, are highly in demand nowadays and not all are aware of the many locations they may visit. This is where HAPinas comes in handy, we want to supply people with information on the many facilities in Metro Manila and the services they have to offer. Like they say, it never hurts to be prepared!

About

A short description about us

This project HAPinas or Healthcare Availability sa Pilipinas is a platform which aims to give more information about hospitals in a more easy way. In our website are the description, specialization, contact information and locations of the hospitals in Metro Manila. Here we also have media about each hospital, also in the website the users can interact or send messages to the admins if they have some questions or queries.

Future Plans

As of today, we are just archiving the contact information of the different hospitals in the country. If there is more time and funding given, we would like to improve the site to become a direct contacting platform. A site where there are representatives who can assist the people who are in need of help.
